The 3 questions

Monday, June 30, 2008

There was a young man who went overseas to study for quite a long time. When he returned, he asked his parents to find him a religious scholar or any expert who could answer his 3 Questions. Finally, his parents were able to find a scholar.

Young man: Who are you? Can you answer my questions?
Scholar: I am one of God willing, I will be able to answer your questions.

Young man: Are you sure? A lot of Professors and experts were not able to answer my questions.
Scholar: I will try my best, with the help of God.

Young Man: I have 3 questions:
1. Does God exist? If so, show me His shape.
2. What is fate?
3. If Devil was created from the fire, why at the end he will be thrown to hell that is also created from fire. It certainly will not hurt him at all, since Devil and the hell were created from fire. Did God not think of it this far?

Suddenly, the Scholar slapped the young man's face very hard.

Young Man(feeling pain): Why do you get angry at me?
Scholar: I am not angry. The slap is my answer to your three questions.

Young Man: I really don't understand.
Scholar: How do you feel after I slapped you?

Young Man: Of course, I felt the pain.
Scholar: So do you believe that pain exists?

Young Man: Yes.
Scholar: Show me the shape of the pain!

Young Man: I cannot.
Scholar: That is my first answer. All of us feel God's existence without being able to see His shape… Last night, did you dream that you will be slapped by me?

Young Man: No.
Scholar: Did you ever think that you will get a slap from me, today?

Young Man: No.
Scholar: That is fate my second answer…….. My hand that I used to slap you, what is it created from?

Young Man: It is created from flesh.
Scholar: How about your face, what is it created from?
Young Man: Flesh.

Scholar: How do you feel after I slapped you?
Young Man: In pain.

Scholar: Thats it. this is my third answer, Even though Devil and also the hell were created from the fire, if God wants, God willing , the hell will become a very painful place for devil.

Blood pressure

The 1st Number: Systolic pressure is the pressure generated when the heart contracts .

The 2nd Number: Diastolic pressure is the blood pressure when the heart is relaxed.

What is Normal Blood Pressure ? Buy and use a blood pressure monitor.
Compare your BP reading with the numbers on the chart above. Draw a line from your systolic pressure to your diastolic pressure.
Is the slope of the line about the same as shown on the chart? Where do YOU fit in? What are your risk factors?
Are your blood pressure readings within the normal blood pressure range?Should you take anti-hypertension medication to lower your blood pressure?

Normal human daily Blood Pressure Range can vary widely, so any single blood pressure monitor reading is not reliable. BP monitor readings must be taken at different times of day, to determine AVERAGE blood pressure over time.

What is important is your AVERAGE BP, or MAP (Mean Arterial Pressure) over time. Or, where are those numbers sitting MOST of the time?

Normal MAP is about 93 mm of mercury.
Lowering High Blood Pressure Tactics

Think before

Thursday, June 26, 2008

Photobucket

Today before you say an unkind word -
Think of someone who can't speak.

Before you complain about the taste of your food -
Think of someone who has nothing to eat.

Before you complain about your husband or wife -
Think of someone who's crying out to GOD for a companion.

Today before you complain about life -
Think of someone who went too early to heaven.

Before you complain about your children -
Think of someone who desires children but they're barren.

Before you argue about your dirty house someone didn't clean or sweep -
Think of the people who are living in the streets.

Before whining about the distance you drive
Think of someone who walks the same distance with their feet.

And when you are tired and complain about your job -
Think of the unemployed, the disabled, and those who wish they had your job.

But before you think of pointing the finger or condemning another -
Remember that not one of us is without sin and we all answer to one MAKER.

We all need to be reminded at times
that no matter how bad things are that there are
always others that have it worse than we do.

The Farmer & The Cow

A journalist became lost on the back roads and stopped at a farm to get directions. As he was talking to the farmer he noticed a cow with a wooden leg. "How did the cow get a wooden leg?" he asked the farmer.

"Well", said the farmer, "that's a very special cow. One night not too long ago we had a fire start in the barn, and that cow set up a great squealing that woke everyone, and by the time we got there he had herded all the other animals out of the barn. Saved 'em all."

"And that was when he hurt his leg?" asked the journalist anxious for a story.

"Nope, he pulled through that just fine." said the farmer.

"Though a while later, I was back in the woods when a bear attacked me. Well, sir, that cow was near by and he came running and set on that bear and chased him off. Saved me for sure."

"Wow! So the bear injured his leg then?" questioned the journalist.

"Nope. He came away without a scratch. Though a few days later, my tractor turned over in a ditch and I was knocked unconscious. Well, that cow dove into the ditch and pulled me out before I got cut up in the machinery."

"Ahh! So his leg got caught by the combine?" asked the newsman."Noooope. We both walked away from that one." says the farmer.

"So how did he get the wooden leg?" the reporter quized.

"Well", the farmer replied, "You can't eat all at once, a cow that good!"

It's a rough life in the world with few rewards. Most people, justifiably, have a "What have you done for me today" mentality. Hold steady, keeping the faith. It is possible to store riches in heaven while on the earth DESPITE THE DIFFICULTIES HERE.

Never give up loving others even when they use you.

People come

I am sending this to you to see how many actually read their e-mail. Your response will be interesting. Pay attention to what you read. After you have finished reading it, you will know the reason it was sent to you. Here goes:

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime. When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that person. When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need you have expressed. They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with guidance and support, to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually. They may seem like a godsend and they are. They are there for the reason you need them to be. Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time, this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end. Sometimes they die.. Sometimes they walk away. Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand. What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled, their work is done. The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on!

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, cause your turn has come to share, grow or learn. They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh. They may teach you something you have never done. They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy. Believe it, it is real. But only for a season.!

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build upon in order to have a solid emotional foundation. Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have learned to use in all other relationships and areas of your life.. It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant ..

Thank you for being a part of my life, whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime.

Send this to every friend that you have , including the person who sent it to you.
0 Replies - you may need to work on your "people skills"
2 Replies - you are nice but probably need to be more outgoing
4 Replies - you have picked your friends well
6 Replies - you are downright popular
8 Replies or More - you are totally awesome (and that's probably why you're on MY list)

I wonder what mine will be.

Mouse trap

dear all,
i wish to share this short inducing piece i found on w3.
this proves that one of the best things to hold onto in this world is a friend.
> roland

A mouse looked through the crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife open a package. What food might this contain? The mouse wondered - he was devastated to discover it was a mousetrap.

Retreating to the farmyard, the mouse proclaimed the warning : "There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!" The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, ' Mr.Mouse , I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it.' The mouse turned to the pig and told him, 'There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!' The pig sympathized, but said, I am so very sorry, Mr. Mouse, but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. 'Be assured you are in my prayers.' The mouse turned to the cow and said 'There is a mousetrap in the house! There is a mousetrap in the house!' The cow said, 'Wow, Mr. Mouse. I'm sorry for you, but it's no skin off my nose.'

So, the mouse returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer's mousetrap alone. That very night a sound was heard throughout the house -- like the sound of a mousetrap catching its prey. The farmer's wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught. The snake bit the farmer's wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital , and she returned home with a fever.

Everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard for the soup's main ingredient. But his wife's sickness continued, so friends and neighbours came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them, the farmer butchered the pig. The farmer's wife did not get well; she died. So many people came for her funeral, the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide enough meat for all of them. The mouse looked upon it all from his crack in the wall with great sadness.

So, the next time you hear someone is facing a problem and think it doesn't concern you, remember -- when one of us is threatened, we are all at risk.
We are all involved in this journey called life. We must keep an eye out for one another and make an extra effort to encourage one another.

SEND THIS TO EVERYONE WHO HAS EVER HELPED YOU OUT AND LET THEM KNOW HOW IMPORTANT THEY ARE.

REMEMBER .....
EACH OF US IS A VITAL THREAD IN ANOTHER PERSON'S TAPESTRY;
OUR LIVES ARE WOVEN TOGETHER FOR A REASON.

"Never take some one for granted, Hold every person Close to your
heart because you might wake up one day and realize that you have
lost a diamond while you were too busy collecting stones."

Remember this always in life.

A chat with God

hi friends.
i wanna share a transcript of an online cyber session with God.
i found this on the net and thought of sharing with others.
have a nice day.
> roland

God : Hi. Did you buzz me?

Me: No.. Who is this ?

God : This is GOD. I heard your prayers. So I thought I will chat.

Me: I do pray. Just makes me feel good. I am actually busy now. I am in the midst of something.

God : What are you busy at? Ants are busy too.

Me: Don't know. But I cant find free time. Life has become hectic. It's rush hour all the time.

God : Sure. Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you results. Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.

Me: I understand. But I still can't figure out. By the way, I was not expecting YOU to buzz me on instant messaging chat.

God : Well I wanted to resolve your! Fight for time, by giving you some clarity. In this net era, I wanted to reach you through the medium you are comfortable with.

Me: Tell me, why has life become complicated now?

God : Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated.

Me: why are we then constantly unhappy?

God : Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. You are worrying because you are analyzing. Worrying has become your habit. That's why you are not happy.

Me: But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty?

God : Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional.

Me: But then, there is so much pain due to uncertainty. .

God : Pain is inevitable able, but suffering is optional.

Me: If suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?

God : Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don't suffer. With that experience their life become better not bitter.

Me: You mean to say such experience is useful?

God : Yes. In every terms, Experience is a hard teacher . She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.

Me: But still, why should we go through such tests? Why cant we be free from problems?

God : Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons (to) Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you! Are free from problems.

Me: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don't know where we are heading..

God : If you look outside you will not know where you are heading.Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.

Me: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the right direction. What should I do?

God : Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead. You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock.

Me: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?

God : Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.

Me: What surprises you about people?

God : when they suffer they ask, "why me?" When they prosper, they never ask "Why me" Everyone wishes to have truth on their side, but few want to be on the side of the truth.

Me: Sometimes I ask, who am I, why am I here. I cant get the answer.

God : Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not a process of discovery but a process of creation.

Me: How can I get the best out of life?

God : Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.

Me: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.

God : There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO.

Me: Thank you for this wonderful chat.

God : Well. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Don't believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs. Life is a mystery to solve not a problem to resolve. Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how to live it. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but by the moments that took our breath away!

Undergarment warning

Ladies this could happen to you and Guys this could happen to your wife, girlfriend, partner so please BEWARE, and also warn others. The picture is horrible but I felt that I should share with you.

FLESH EATING LARVAE
(UNDERGARMENT WARNING!)

It has been reported that this is happening in Zimbabwe as well, please make sure you iron your undergarments before you wear them and make sure that your clothes are ironed when they are dry and not damp. After anthropologist Susan McKinley came back home from an expedition in South America, she noticed a very strange rash on her left breast. Nobody knew what it was and she quickly dismissedit believing that the holes would leave in time. Upon her return she ecided to see a doctor after she starteddeveloping intense pains. The doctor, not knowing the exact severityof the disease, gave her antibiotics and special creams. As time lapsed the pain did not subside and her left breastbecame more inflamed and started to bleed. She decided to bandage hersores however as Susan's pain grew more intense she decided to seek help from a more certified doctor. Dr. Lynch could not diagnose the infection and told Susan to seek the aid of oneof his colleagues who specialized in dermatology whom was sadly on vacation. She waited for two weeks and finally was able to react the dermatologist. Sadly, a life changing event was about to unfold during her appointment. To Miss McKinley's surprise, after she removed the bandages, they found larva growing and squirming within the pores and sores of her breast. Sometimes these wicked creatures would alltogether simultaneously move around intodifferent crevices. What she didn't know was that the holes were infact, deeper than she had originally thought for these larvae werefeeding off the fat, tissue, and even milk canals of her bosom.

The heart

"Tomorrow morning," the surgeon began, "I'll open up your heart..."

"You'll find Jesus there," the boy interrupted

The surgeon looked up, annoyed "I'll cut your heart open," he continued, to see how much damage has been done "

"But when you open up my heart, you'll find Jesus in there," said the boy.

The surgeon looked to the parents, who sat quietly. "When I see how much damage has been done, I'll sew your heart and chest back up, and I'll plan what to do next."

"But you'll find Jesus in my heart. The Bible says He lives there. The hymns all say He lives there. You'll find Him in my heart."

The surgeon had had enough. "I'll tell you what I'll find in your heart. I'll find damaged muscle, low blood supply, and weakened vessels. And I'll find out if I can make you well."

"You'll find Jesus there too. He lives there "

The surgeon left.

The surgeon sat in his office, recording his notes from the surgery, "...damaged aorta, damaged pulm onary vein, widespread muscle degeneration. No hope for tran splant, no hope for cure.
Therapy: painkillers and bed rest. Prognosis:, " here he paused, "death within one year."

He stopped the recorder, but there was more to be said. "Why?" he asked aloud. "Why did You do this? You've put him here; You've put him in this pain; and You've cursed him to an early death. Why?"

The Lord answered and said, "The boy, My lamb, was not meant for your flock for long, for he is a part of My flock , and will forever be. Here, in My flock, he will feel no pain, and will be comforted as you cannot imagine. His parents will one day join him here, and they will know peace, and My flock will continue to grow."

The surgeon's tears were hot, but his anger was hotter. "You created that boy , and You created that heart. He'll be dead in months. Why?"

The Lord answered, "The boy, My lamb, shall return to My flock, for He has Done his duty: I did not put My lamb with your flock to lose him, but to retrieve another lost lamb." YOU!

The surgeon wept.. The surgeon sat beside the boy's bed; the boy's parents sat across from hi m. The boy awoke and whispered , "Did you cut open my heart?"

"Yes," said the surgeon.

"What did you find?" asked the boy.

"I found Jesus there," said the surgeon
- Author Unknown , Celebrate Jesus in 2007

Jesus said, "If you are ashamed of me, I will be ashamed of you before my Father.."

"Yes, I do Love God.
He is my source of existence and Savior.
He keeps me functioning each and everyday.

Without Him, I will be nothing. Without him, I am nothing,
But with Him I can do all things through Christ that strengthens me." - Phil 4:13

This is the simplest test. If you Love God, and are not ashamed of all the marvelous things he has done for you. Send this to ten people and the person who sent it to you.

Hot chocolate

Thursday, June 19, 2008

From My Inbox

A group of graduates, well established in their careers, were talking at a reunion and decided to go visit their old university professor, now retired. During their visit, the conversation turned to complaints about stress in their work and lives. Offering his guests hot chocolate, the professor went into the kitchen and returned with a large pot of hot chocolate and an assortment of cups - porcelain, glass, crystal, some plain looking, some expensive, some exquisite - telling them to help themselves to the hot chocolate.

When they all had a cup of hot chocolate in hand, the professor said: "Notice that all the nice looking; expensive cups were taken, leaving behind the plain and cheap ones. While it is normal for you to want only the best for yourselves, that is the source of your problems and stress. The cup that you're drinking from adds nothing to the quality of the hot chocolate. In most cases it is just more expensive and in some cases even hides what we drink. What all of you really wanted was hot chocolate, not the cup; but you consciously went for the best cups... And then you began eyeing each other's cups.

Now consider this: Life is the hot chocolate; your job, money and position in society are the cups. They are just tools to hold and contain life. The cup you have does not define, nor change the quality of life you have. Sometimes, by concentrating only on the cup, we fail to enjoy the hot chocolate God has provided us. God makes the hot chocolate, man chooses the cups.

The happiest people don't have the best of everything.
They just make the best of everything that they have.

Live simply.
Love generously.
Care deeply.
Speak kindly.

And enjoy your Hot Chocolate.

Growing up VS Growing Old

dear friends,
i liked reading this short article i found on the net,
hope you will like it too.
> roland

The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn't already know. I stood up to look around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder. I turned around to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me with a smile that lit up her entire being. She said, "Hi handsome. My name is Rose. I'm eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?" I laughed and enthusiastically responded, "Of course you may!" and she gave me a giant squeeze.

"Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?" I asked. She jokingly replied, "I'm here to meet a rich husband, get married, and have a couple of kids..." "No seriously," I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her to be taking on this challenge at her age. "I always dreamed of having a college education! and now I'm getting one!" she told me.

After class we walked to the student union building and shared a chocolate milkshake. We became instant friends every day for the next three months we would leave class together and talk nonstop. I was always mesmerized listening to this "time machine" as she shared her wisdom and experience with me.

Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students. She was living it up.

At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet. I'll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped up to the podium. As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by five cards on the floor. Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply said, "I'm sorry I'm so jittery! I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is killing me! ! I'll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell you what I know."

As we laughed she cleared her throat and began, "We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing. There are only four secrets to staying young... being happy, and achieving success. You have to laugh and find humor every day. You've got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die. We have so many people walking around who are dead and don't even know it! There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up. If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don't do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old. If I am eighty-seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight. Anybody can grow older. That doesn't take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunity in change. Have no regrets. The elderly usually don't have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets." She concluded her speech by courageously singing "The Rose." She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily lives.

At the year's end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those years ago. One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep. Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it's never too late to be all you can possibly be.

When you finish reading this, please send this peaceful word of advice to your friends and family, they'll really enjoy it!
These words have been passed along in loving memory of ROSE.

REMEMBER:
GROWING OLDER IS MANDATORY.
GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL.

We make a Living by what we get, We make a Life by what we give.
God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.
If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

Pass this message to people you care about.
If you choose not, then you refuse to bless someone else.

Worlds Wildest Architecture

Photobucket

10- Torre Galatea (Figueras, Spain)
The first things you notice are the giant egg sculptures along the roofline. Then it hits you that the Salvador Dali Theater Museum in Figueras, Spain, is no ordinary building. The museum’s tower, Torre Galatea, was named for the surrealist artist’s deceased wife, and Dali himself lived there until his death in 1989. Interestingly, the museum sits next to the parish church where Dali was baptized in 1904; he is buried in an unmarked crypt in the museum’s main exhibition hall.

Photobucket

9- Sydney Opera House (Sydney)
Designed by Danish architect Jorn Utzon with a roof in the shape of a ship at full sail, the Sydney Opera House opened in October 1973, with an inaugural performance of Opera Australia’s production of Sergei Prokofiev’s “War and Peace.” The building is also home to the Sydney Theatre Company and Sydney Symphony, and continues to be one of Australia’s most popular architectural icons.

Photobucket

8- Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum (Nashville, Tenn.)
True to its tuneful roots, the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville is constructed in the shape of a treble clef; it boasts an exterior that resembles a piano keyboard, right down to the piano-key-shaped windows. Built at a cost of $37 million, the museum opened in 2001 and houses a vast collection of country-music video clips, recorded music, dynamic exhibits and more.

Photobucket

7- Longaberger Co. (Newark, Ohio)
A tisket, a tasket, an office in … a basket? That’s a typical day for employees of the Longaberger Co., a maker of handcrafted baskets, pottery and ceramics, whose corporate headquarters resembles a giant picnic basket. Completed in 1997 after two years of construction, the seven-story building in Newark, Ohio, is a replica of the company’s medium market basket. It’s especially spectacular at night when light glows from the building’s 84 windows.

Photobucket

6- Guggenheim Museum (Bilbao, Spain)
Architect Frank Gehry designed the Guggenheim Museum, located in the port city of Bilbao, to resemble a ship, with its reflective titanium panels mimicking fish scales. Lauded by Time magazine as the “building of the century,” the museum was completed in 1997 at a cost of $100 million and features Gehry’s signature curvy, free-form sculptural style. Movie lovers might recognize the building from its cameo appearance in the opening sequence of the 1999 James Bond film, “The World Is Not Enough.”

Photobucket

5- Ideal Palace of Ferdinand Cheval (Hauterives, France)
In 1879, French mail carrier Ferdinand Cheval began building a structure that was inspired by the shape of a stone he tripped over one day. Thirty-three years and many, many stones later, Cheval’s “Ideal Palace” was completed in Hauterives, France. Made of stones bound together with lime, mortar and cement, the palace is considered an extraordinary example of naïve art architecture.

Photobucket

4- The Haines Shoe House (York County, Pa.)
Modeled after a high-top work shoe, the Haines Shoe House, built in 1948, was shoe entrepreneur Mahlon Haines’ most outrageous advertising gimmick. The 48-foot-long by 17-foot- wide by 25-foot-tall wood-frame house in York County incorporates three bedrooms, two baths, a kitchen and living room on five levels. Sold after Haines’ death, the house was briefly an ice cream parlor before reverting to family ownership; today the house is a museum that honors the “Shoe Wizard.”

Photobucket

3- Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum (Minneapolis)
Located on a bluff overlooking the Mississippi River in Minneapolis, the Frederick R. Weisman Art Museum at the University of Minnesota is an edifice of two faces. On the campus side, the brick façade mixes easily with nearby brick and sandstone buildings. On the other side, the museum boasts curvy and angular brushed steel surfaces that bespeak the work of the project’s designer, architect Frank Gehry.

Photobucket

2- Casa Batllo (Barcelona)
When owner Josep Batllo commissioned architect Antoni Gaudi to remodel his 1877 home in Barcelona, Spain, the architect not only made radical changes to every part of the original dwelling, but also created a modern masterpiece that more than 100 years later still commands attention. Completed in 1904, the house has a façade covered in colorful mosaics, with balconies that resemble skulls and first-floor columns that look like human bones — not your typical fixer-upper.

Photobucket

1- Residential Car-House (Salzburg, Austria)
Talk about your mobile homes! This compact (300 square meters) home on wheels in Salzburg, Austria, is the brainchild of German architect Markus Voglreiter, who spent about 1 million euros to build it in 2004. Constructed of wood and inspired by the VW Beetle, the “Residential Car-House” is thermal-insulated, has an open floor plan and comes equipped with technology to make it energy-efficient.

Echo of Life

Photobucket

A father and his son were walking in the mountains. ”Suddenly, the son falls, hurts himself and screams “Ahhhhh !!!

To his surprise, he hears the voice repeating, somewhere in the mountain “Ahhhhh !!!” Curious, he yells “Who are you?” He receives an answer “Who are you?” Angered at the response, he screams “Coward!” He again receives an answer “Coward!”

The father smiles and says, “My son, pay attention.” And he yells to the mountain, “I admire you!” Again the man yells, “You are a champion!” The voice answers “You are a champion!”

The boy is surprised, but he does not understand. Then the father explains, “People call this ECHO, but really this is LIFE. It gives you back everything you say or do. Our life is simply a reflection of our actions.”

If you want more love in the world, create more love in your heart.

If you want more competence in your team, improve your competence.

This relationship applies to everything, in all aspects. Life will give you back everything you have given to it.

Your life is not a coincidence; it is a reflection of you!

The greatest pain in life

Friday, June 13, 2008

The greatest pain in life is not to die, but to be ignored.

To lose the person you love so much to another who doesn't care at all.
To have someone you care so about so much throw a party... and not tell you about it.
When your favorite person on earth neglects to invite you to his graduation.
To have people think that you don't care.

The greatest pain in life, is not to die, but to be forgotten.

To be left in the dust after another's great achievement.
To never get a call from a friend, just saying "hi".
When you show someone your innermost thoughts and they laugh in your face.
For friends to always be too busy to console you when you need someone to lift your spirits.
When it seems like the only person who cares about you, is you.

Life is full of pain, but does it ever get better?

Will people ever care about each other, and make time for those who are in need?
Each of us has a part to play in this great show we call life.
Each of us has a duty to mankind to tell our friends we love them.
If you do not care about your friends you will not be punished.
You will simply be ignored...
forgotten...
as you have done to others!

A letter to bill gates

here's the latest from erap jokes, where he sent a letter to Mr Bill Gates.
hmmm, stupid ousted president indeed!
>> RR

MR BILL GATES
Chief Executive Officer
Microsystems Inc

Subject: Problems with my new computer

Dear Mr. Bill Gates,

We have bought a computer for our home and we have found someProblems, which I want to bring to your notice.

1- There is a button 'start' but there is no 'stop' button. We request you to check this.

2- We find there is 'Run' in the menu. One of my friends clicked 'run' he ran up to my son, Jinggoy! So, we request you to change that to 'sit', so that we can click that by sitting.

3- One doubt is whether any 're-scooter' is available in system? I find only 're-cycle', but I own a scooter at my home.

4- There is 'Find' button but it is not working properly. My wife lost the door key and we tried a lot trace the key with this ' find' button, but was unable to trace. Please rectify this problem.

5- My child learnt 'Microsoft word' now he wants to learn 'Microsoft sentence', so when you will provide that?

6- I brought computer, CPU, mouse and keyboard, but there is only one icon which shows 'MY Computer': when you will provide the remaining items?

7- It is surprising that windows says 'MY Pictures' but there is not even a single photo of mine. So when will you keep my photo in that.

8- There is 'MICROSOFT OFFICE' what about 'MICROSOFT HOME' since I use the PC at home only.

9- You provided 'My Recent Documents'. When you will provide 'My Past Documents'?

10- You provide 'My Network Places'. For God sake please do not provide 'My Secret Places'. I do not want to let my wife know where I go during late hours.

Regards,
Joseph Estrada

The emperor's seed

Wednesday, June 11, 2008

An emperor in the Far East was growing old and new it was time to choose his successor.

Instead of choosing one of his assistants or his children, he decided something different.

He called young people in the kingdom together one day.

He said, "It is time for me to step down and choose the next emperor. I have decided to choose one of you."

The kids were shocked!

But the emperor continued.

"I am going to give each one of you a seed today, one very special seed. I want you to plant the seed, water it and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from this one seed. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next emperor!"

One boy name Ling was there that day and he, like the others, received a seed. He went home and excitedly told his mother the story.

She helps him get a pot and planting soil, and he planted the seed and watered it carefully.

Everyday he would water it watches to see if it had grown.

After about three weeks, some of the other youths began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow.

Ling kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew.

Three weeks, 4 weeks, 5 weeks went by. Still nothing.

By now, others were talking about their plants but Ling didn't have a plant, and he felt like a failure.

Six months went by; still nothing in Ling's pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing.

Ling didn't say anything to his friends, however. He just kept waiting for his seed grow.

A year finally went by and all of the youths of the kingdom brought their plants to the emperor for inspection.

Ling told his mother that he wasn't going to take an empty pot but his mother said he must be honest about what happened.

Ling felt sick to his stomach, but he knew his mother was right.

He took his empty pot to the palace.

When Ling arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other youths. They were beautiful -- in all shape and sizes.

Ling put his empty pot on the floor and many of the other kids laughed at him.

A few felt sorry for him and just said, "Hey nice try."

When the emperor arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted the young people.

Ling just tried to hide in the back.

"My, what great plants, trees and flowers you have grown," said the emperor. "Today, one of you will be appointed the next emperor!"

All of the sudden, the emperor spotted Ling at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered his guards to bring him to the front.

Ling was terrified.

"The emperor knows I'm a failure! Maybe he will have me killed!"

When Ling got to the front, the emperor asked his name.

"My name is Ling," he replied.

All kids were laughing and making fun of him.

The emperor asked everyone to quiet down.

He looked at Ling, and then announced to the crowd, "Behold your new emperor! His name is Ling!"

Ling couldn't believe it. Ling couldn't even grow his seed. How could he be the new emperor?

Then the emperor said, "One year ago today, I gave everyone here a seed. I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today. But I gave you all boiled seeds, which would not grow. All of you, except Ling, have brought me trees and plants and flowers. When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you. Ling was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it. Therefore, he is the one who will be the new emperor!"

If you plant honesty, you will reap trust..
If you plant goodness, you will reap friends.
If you plant humility, you will reap greatness.
If you plant perseverance, you will reap victory.
If you plant consideration, you will reap harmony.
If you plant hard work, you will reap success.
If you plant forgiveness, you will reap intimacy.
If you plant patience, you will reap inner strength.
If you plant faith, you will reap miracles.

But if you plant dishonesty, you will reap distrust.
If you plant selfishness, you will reap loneliness.
If you plant pride, you will reap destruction.
If you plant envy, you will reap trouble.
If you plant laziness, you will reap stagnation.
If you plant bitterness, you will reap isolation.
If you plant greed, you will reap loss.
If you plant gossip, you will reap enemies.
If you plant worries, you will reap wrinkles.
If you plant sin, you will reap guilt.

So be careful what you plant now, it will determine what you will reap tomorrow!

Some will be easy to take advantage of, some will be difficult.
But once we let them pass in hopes of something better,
those opportunities may never again be available.

Sushi

TRUE STORY

A Japanese man from Gifu Prefecture who incessantly about a persistent headache. Mr. Shota Fujiwara loves his sashimi and sushi very much to the extent of trying to get them as "alive and fresh" as can be for his insatiable appetite. He developed a severe headache, but for the past three years had put it off as migraine and stress from work.

It was only when he started losing his phsyco-motor skills that he sought medical help. A brain scan and x-ray revealed little however. But upon closer inspection by a specialist on his scalp, the Doctor noticed small movements beneath his skin. It was then that the Doctor did a local anaesthetic to his scalp and discovered the cause! Tiny tapeworms crawled out! Major surgery was thus immediately called for and the extent of the infestation was horrific!

REMEMBER:
Tapeworms, roundworms and their eggs which abound in all fish, fresh or saltwater, can only be killed by thorough cooking and/or freezing the fish to between -4 deg C - 0 degsC.

Now, do you still want to eat Sushi? Think TWICE!!

Giving Thanks

Photobucket

One day, the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country with the express purpose of showing him how poor people live.

They spent a couple of days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family.

On their return from their trip, the father asked his son, 'How was the trip?'

'It was great, Dad.'

'Did you see how poor people live?' the father asked.

'Oh yeah,' said the son.

'So, tell me, what did you learn from the trip?' asked the father.

The son answered:

'I saw that we have one dog and they had four.

We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our garden and they have a creek that has no end.

We have imported lanterns in our garden and they have the stars at night

Our patio reaches to the front yard and they have the whole horizon.

We have a small piece of land to live on and they have fields that go beyond our sight.

We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.

We buy our food, but they grow theirs.

We have walls around our property to protect us, they have friends to protect them.'

The boy's father was speechless.

Then his son added, 'Thanks Dad for showing me how poor we are.'

Isn't perspective a wonderful thing? Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks for everything we have, instead of worrying about what we don't have.

Appreciate every single thing you have, especially your friends!

Pass this on to family, friends and acquaintances and help them refresh their perspective and appreciation..

Water or Coke?

Saturday, June 07, 2008

This is really an eye opener.... Water or Coke?
We all know that water is important but I've never seen it written down like this before.

WATER:
1. 75% of Americans are chronically dehydrated.
2. In 37% of Americans, the thirst mechanism is so weak that it is often mistaken for hunger.
3. Even MILD dehydration will slow down one's metabolism as much as 3%.
4. One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters studied in a Universityof Washington study.
5. Lack of water, the#1 trigger of daytime fatigue.
6. Preliminary research indicates that 8-10 glasses of water a day could significantly ease back and joint pain for up to 80% of sufferers.
7. A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic math, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or on
a printed page.
8. Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45%, plus it can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and one is 50% less likely to develop bladder cancer.

COKE:

1. In many states (in the USA) the highway patrol carries two gallons of Coke in the truck to remove blood from the highway after a car accident.
2. You can put a T-bone steak in a bowl of Coke and it will be gone in two days.
3. To clean a toilet: Pour a can of Coca-Cola into the toilet bowl and let the "real thing" sit for one hour, then flush clean. The citric acid in Coke removes stains from vitreous China.
4. To remove rust spots from chrome car bumpers: Rub the bumper with a rumpled-up piece of Reynolds Wrap aluminum foil dipped in Coca-Cola.
5. To clean corrosion from car battery terminals: Pour a can of Coca-Cola over the terminals to bubble away the corrosion
6. To loosen a rusted bolt: Applying a cloth soaked in Coca-Cola to the rusted bolt for several minutes.
7. To bake a moist ham: Empty a can of Coca-Cola into the baking pan, wrap the ham in aluminum foil, and bake. Thirty minutes before the ham is finished, remove the foil, allowing the drippings to mix with the Coke for sumptuous brown gravy.
8. To remove grease from clothes: Empty a can of Coke into a load of greasy clothes, add detergent, and run through a regular cycle. The Coca-Cola will help loosen grease stains.
9. It will also clean road haze from your windshield.

FYI:

1. The active ingredient in Coke is phosphoric acid. Its pH is 2.8. It will dissolve a nail in about 4 days. Phosphoric acid also leaches calcium from bones and is a major contributor to the rising increase in osteoporosis.
2. To carry Coca-Cola syrup (the concentrate) the commercial truck must use the Hazardous material place cards reserved for highly corrosive materials.
3. The distributors of Coke have been using it to clean the engines of their trucks for about 20 years!

Now the question is...
Would you like a Coke or a glass of water?

Footprints... new version

Tuesday, June 03, 2008

Imagine you and the Lord Jesus are walking down the road together. For much of the way, the Lord's footprints go along steadily, consistently, rarely varying the pace.
But your footprints are a disorganized stream of zigzags, starts, stops, turnarounds, circles, departures, and returns.
For much of the way, it seems to go like this, but gradually your footprints come more in line with the Lord's, soon paralleling His consistently.
You and Jesus are walking as t! rue friends!
This seems perfect, but then an interesting thing happens: Your footprints that once etched the sand next to Jesus' are now walking precisely in His steps.
Inside His larger footprints are your smaller ones, you and Jesus are becoming one.
This goes on for many miles, but gradually you notice another change. The footprints inside the large footprints seem to grow larger.
Eventually they disappear altogether. There is only one set of footprints they have become one.
This goes on for a long time, but suddenly the second set of footprints is back. This time it seems even worse! Zigzags all over the place. Stops. Starts. Gashes in the sand. A variable mess of prints.
You are amazed and shocked.
Your dream ends. Now you pray:
"Lord, I understand the first scene, with zigzags and fits. I was a new Christian; I was just learning. But You walked on through the storm and helped me learn to walk with You."
"That is correct."
"And when the smaller footprints were inside of Yours, I was actually learning to walk in Your steps, following You very closely."
"Very good.. You have understood everything so far."
When the smaller footprints grew and filled in Yours, I suppose that I was becoming like You in every way."
"Precisely."
"So, Lord, was there a regression or something? The footprints separated, and this time it was worse than at first."
There is a pause as the Lord answers, with a smile in His voice.
“My precious child. I love you and I would never leave you. During your times of trial and suffering when you saw the mess of footprints… That was when I danced with you.”

To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven: A time to weep, a time to laugh, A time to mourn, and a time to dance.
- Ecclesiastes 3:1,4.

It's not WHAT you have in your life, but Whom you have in your life that counts.... Think about that.

I ASKED GOD
I asked for a flower, He gave me a garden. I asked for a tree, He gave me a forest. I asked for a river, He gave me an ocean. I asked for a friend, He gave me "YOU."

Send this to whomever you think of as a friend..... I did.

Penis Talks by RAR

I, the Penis, hereby request a raise in salary for the following reasons:

  • I do physical labour.
  • I work at great depths.
  • I plunge head first into everything I do.
  • I do not get weekends or public holidays off.
  • In fact holidays and weekends is when I toil the most.
  • I work in a damp environment.
  • I work in a dark workplace that has poor ventilation.
  • I work in extremely high temperatures.

Dear Penis,

After assessing your request, and considering the arguments you have raised, the administration rejects your request for the following reasons:
  • You do not work 8 hours straight.
  • You fall asleep after brief work periods.
  • You do not always follow the orders of the management team.
  • You do not stay in your designated area and are often seen visiting other locations.
  • You do not take initiative - you need to be pressured and stimulated in order to start working.
  • You leave the workplace rather messy at the end of your shift.
  • You don't always observe necessary safety regulations, such as wearing the correct protective clothing.
  • You will retire well before you are 65.
  • You are unable to work double shifts.
  • You sometimes leave your designated work area before you have completed the assigned task.
  • As if that were not all, you have been seen constantly entering and exiting the work place carrying two suspicious-looking bags.

Sleeping positions

Your sleeping position betrays your personality

There is an analysis linking the personality of each other with the sleeping position s/he’s got. It encompasses six common sleeping positions, connected each other to a particular personality type.

We are all aware of our body language when we are awake but this is the first time we have been able to see what our subconscious posture says about us. What's interesting is that the profile behind the posture is often very different from what we would expect.

The six positions studied are:

1. The Fetus >>> Those individuals are apparently tough on the outside but have a "big heart". They may be shy (and thus appear arrogant) at the first meeting, but soon they get relaxed. This is the most frequent sleeping position. Twice more women than men adopt this position.

2. Log >>> it’s characterized by lying on your side with both arms down by your side. These are easy going, social people who usually trust strangers, fact that makes them gullible.

3. Yearner >>> people who sleep on their side with both arms out in front were found to posses an open nature, but can also have a suspicious, cynical character. They require time to take decisions, but once taken, they won't change their mind.

4. Soldier >>> lying on your back with both arms pinned to your sides. These are generally quiet and reserved people, who avoid loud discussions, but set high standards for themselves and the others around them.

5. Freefall >>> sleeping on your stomach with your hands around the pillow, and your head turned to one side. Sociable and brash people, can be bad tempered, rejecting criticism, or extreme situations.

6. Starfish >>> sleeping on your back with both arms up around the pillow. These are trustworthy and good listeners; they dislike being the center of attention.

It was also investigated the effect of the sleeping positions on the general health, and the freefall position was found beneficial for digestion, while the starfish and soldier positions made subjects more prone to snoring and a bad night's sleep.

Lying down flat means that stomach contents can more readily be worked back up into the mouth, while those who lie on their back may end up snoring and breathing less well during the night. Both these postures may not necessarily awaken the sleeper but could cause a less refreshing night's sleep.
